Stop Heart Attack is one of many companies selling medical equipment, but one of few specializing solely in cardiac resuscitation. We feature products from Cardiac Science, Medtronic and Philips, the market leaders in cardiac defibrillation, carrying basic units for peace-of-mind in homes, churches and offices, and rugged defibrillators for fire departments and construction crews.

“Cardiac Science, Medtronic and Philips AEDs are the best on the market, and the companies are financially strong,” says Floyd Larkin, owner of Stop Heart Attack. “When investing in an AED, it’s important to know that the manufacturer is financially stable and will withstand product recalls and market downturns. Otherwise, buyers could get left with units manufactured by a bankrupt company, unable to purchase accessories and unable to use their device.”
Public-Access Defibrillation
Stop Heart Attack is more than a medical equipment vendor. We recognize our responsibility to our community to help make public access defibrillation the standard, not the exception. Because we understand that sudden cardiac arrest can occur unprovoked, anywhere and to anyone, we partner with other distributors and competitive vendors to support programs and charity events, which publicize and address the need for defibrillation.
Also, members of the Stop Heart Attack staff participate as guest speakers at events to share valuable information about cardiac disease, including sudden cardiac arrest, and the need for public access defibrillation. “The closer you are to an AED, the better,” Larkin says. “Before defibrillators were made more user-friendly, victims of SCA died because bystanders were not equipped to help. But with new AEDs, save rates have been as high as 74 percent in cases where shocks are administered within three minutes.” Larkin expects that homeowners will recognize the benefits of owning an AED as the ease-of-use of AEDs and affordability of the units is made more public.
Stop Heart Attack works in concert with the Lord Wedgwood Charity to raise funds through the Lord Wedgwood Links to Life Celebrity Golf Classic, and donate AEDs to schools and community gathering places. Stop Heart Attack supplies AEDs to the charity, which then distributes them to schools. The Lord Wedgwood Charity has donated AEDs to 188 schools, and five of those schools have used their units to save the lives of student athletes.
“My proudest affiliation is serving the Lord Wedgwood Charity as a non-voting member of the charity’s board,” Larkin says. “Nothing compares to receiving a call that says the life of a young person was saved by one of our defibrillators.”
